Stoffel Vandoorne, born in 1992 in Kortrijk, is a complete Belgian driver. GP2 champion in 2015 with ART, he raced in Formula 1 with McLaren in 2017 and 2018 alongside Fernando Alonso. After F1 he switched to Formula E, where he won the 2021-22 world championship with Mercedes EQ, becoming one of the leading lights of the electric series. Recruited by Peugeot Sport for the 9X8 Hypercar programme, he has emerged as a fast and consistent driver of the French works effort.
